A Matter of Pride!

pride

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
 ~ Proverbs 16:18

For those of us who think (before we write, do, or say something,) “what will others think about what I am saying, doing, writing?”
Is it possible we have a problem with Pride?
Sometimes that is not the case, sometimes it may be a matter of coming from a place of consideration for others. But I think if we look at our motive we will know if it is coming from a place of consideration or pride!
Too much pride is not a good thing. It can cause us to be less than authentic and can cause us to do things we wouldn’t normally do. Too much pride can cause us to be mean-spirited to others.

Too much pride will cause people to fall.

Too much pride will cause us to make the wrong choice for the sake of being right.

Too much pride will cause us to say ” I do not have too much pride”

I will say it again…Words Matter!

I have said it before and I say it again….Words Matter!

I love you,

Your mother loves you,

Your father is proud of you,

You son wants to be like you,

Your daughter looks up to you,

Your boss values you,

You are beautiful,

You are creative,

You are MAGNIFICENT !

Words Matter!

Giving, what can you give when you have no money?

The BEST thing to give……
your enemy is forgiveness;
to an opponent,your tolerance;
to a friend, your heart;
to your child, a good example;
to your father, deference;
to your mother,conduct that will make her proud of you;
to your self, respect;
to all men, charity. ~ Taken out of Wayne Dyer’s book The Power of Intention. He accredits the quote to Swami Sivananda. I am not certain but I did find it accredited to Ben Franklin as well.
I just know it is TRUTH! Live it…..in my opinion you can’t get better advice!
