A Prayer For 2013

It is 2013! Happy New Year to you all!

Last night I was having a somewhat bad night, not a good thing to be doing on the night before a new year begins! As most of you know I strongly believe in a “Change your thoughts, change your world” kind of existence! So if I am sitting there with a terrible attitude at midnight on new years eve I really feel like I am setting a tone for the new year!  And need I say ” Not a tone that I want!”

With that in mind, about an hour before midnight I went to my room and got my journal out. I decided to start writing down how I was feeling. It helped me to realize ( we all need reminders!!) that no matter why, what, or who, was involved in my bad mood, I was ultimately the person in control of my mood. Period! Now I will admit that I had to continue writing a few minutes before that started to take hold of my mind and soul, but when it did all was good with me! And I was able to make a few decisions about what I wanted to be doing at the stroke of midnight

I wanted my husband by my side ( after I apologized for and let go of my bad attitude) and my bible in my hands. I had decided the way I wanted to bring in the new year was while sitting next to my husband reading the Lords word.  And that is exactly what I did.  First I wrote in my journal my intentions and I thanked God for the wonderful blessings He gave to us in 2012 and for the many blessings He is giving us in 2013! And these were not just words, I felt it deep in my soul! And then I read a few passages as the ball dropped in Times Square! (And not by design, it just happened to be the passage I turned to at Midnight! Awesome!)

Here is the passage that I was reading as the ball dropped:

Mark 11:23   “Truly I tell you, If anyone says to this mountain, ” Go throw yourself into the sea, ” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.     This is my prayer for 2013…for the entire year!

May God bless you and keep you in 2013 and beyond!

Peace and Love~ Christine
