A Season…..

jeremiahThere is a season for everything! For grief, for anger, for pain…..these trials will come into our life! Guarantee!  It’s how we handle the trials that counts! How long do we allow these emotions to hang around? Do we allow these emotions to scar us for life and to determine who we are?? To block us from our good future?Or do we allow God to work in our life?

Today I am thinking of mindfulness and wholeheartedness. As much as we may want to receive the prosperity and abundance that is promised to us Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”   There are things in our life which may keep us from it.

The Lord asks us to give ourselves to Him, to seek Him with all our heart. Jeremiah 29:13 “Then you will seek ME, inquire for, AND require ME and find ME when you search for ME with all your heart.”

In these passages He is speaking to all the captives (carried away into exile from Jerusalem into Babylon) but the point is…….. He is speaking to Captives….. we are all captives in some form or another;until we let go of the past, the pain, the hurt, the UNforgiveness.….etc……

So, YES, God has a plan for our life. But the plan is not a guarantee! It requires us to accept, to open up and receive. We must get out of our own way so that we can receive the plan God has for us; the plan HE has had since our creation!  We must give our self over to God so that He can have His way with us!  🙂

You can not give yourself over to God 100% (with a whole heart) if you are spending your time in the past. Let go of it and step into the future that has been planned for you.  It is so important that we breathe and accept that today is today and yesterday is just that…..yesterday; the past. It is not today and we do not have to let it be a block to our future.  I know it is hard for people to understand that we can let go of the past…..it is not necessary to our survival in life and we will never thrive in life hanging onto this baggage (absolutely not). We will suffer.  I am mostly thinking of unforgiveness here. Pain, grudges, anger, self loathing, self-pity,…..these are not words (emotions,) that allow us to flow with the stream; they cause us to fight it. And if you fight the flow then you will be tired and exhausted!  You will get nowhere! You know this to be true.

So let go and let God. Don’t just say it. You know if you are willing and able to receive the blessings God wants to give you; with a whole heart! And I pray everyday that the world will begin to understand this…more..and more….and more!

Worth Repeating!

I thought it would be nice to re-post my most popular post from the last month!  I figure if it was so popular maybe some of my new readers will find it interesting too! ***assuming they haven’t run across it while browsing around the massive pages that make up my blog! HA!  So here it is!

The quote says it all. Forgiveness is something we do for ourselves. When most people think of forgiveness they think of losing, or of being weak. They think forgiving someone is equal to admitting defeat or admitting they are wrong. Our EGO will not allow this! Our EGO will fight to protect us from anything that makes us feel less than the EGO thinks we should feel. But God says we are better than that. God says with Him all things are possible and that includes to have the ability and the grace that we need to forgive others. Through HIM all things are possible. There is a reason the word ” forgiven” and variations of it are mentioned 48 times in scripture! *Source BibleGateway.com

Bearing a grudge or holding onto anger does not serve you or HIM! Bearing a grudge will keep you stuck. These grudges can build walls that may keep you stuck in a place where you are not able to meet your goals.

So do you think forgiveness is important? I can tell you that most people who are stuck have some soul-searching and cleaning to do, needing to look deep within and see who they may need to forgive. Sometimes these things can be buried so deep that we are not aware of their existence! When I see someone who just can’t get un-stuck I look for the situation which may need forgiveness . And a lot of the time the forgiveness is for oneself. We are the last person we seem to think of when it comes to forgiveness. We dig around and come up with what others have done to us, then we find it within to forgive them, but we forget to look to ourselves. It’s the same old story, we are the last person that we take care of. We need to forgive ourselves just as we forgive others. Whether it is the need for forgiveness for others or forgiveness for ourselves, it will keep us stuck if we do not address it. Stuck and unable to reach our goals.

So who do you need to forgive? While you search your heart for those that have transgressed against you do not forget to look in the mirror and make sure you have forgiven YOU. It is all for you. This will start those walls toppling down! It is a step in the right direction.

Just Because…..

Just because-

I choose to be happy, to smile, to move on and not to hold grudges…because I choose to forgive. It is my choice to hold on to the anger or let it go. It is my choice how I will react to any given problem on any given day.

I pray everyday that the Lord give me the strength to react to my, less than perfect situations, with grace, dignity, and to keep on smiling and laughing ……. not in a maniacal crazy way 😉

Just because I am smiling it doesn’t mean  I do not have struggles as you do, it just means that I choose to be happy, positive, and smiling!

You can too.
