Unconditional love, agape love, will not be swayed by time or circumstances. ” ~ Stephen Kendrick
Do you believe in unconditional love? I have wrote before about my thoughts on unconditional love, after which I receive comments that range from total agreement to people who disagree so vehemently they cannot conceal their anger.
How is it that the subject of love can cause such emotion? Well I guess that question in itself gives us the answer! It is a strong emotion! When we love we do so with such passion and when we hate it is with equal passion. They say the line between love and hate is very thin!
So to get back to my original topic…..unconditional love. YES, I believe in unconditional love. I believe that we see proof of this type of love when we look at a child’s love for it’s parent. What better example can we ask for? And yes…I understand that a child may get rebellious and you may feel as if they put expectations on you, but look how often you hear stories of children with less than ideal parents and childhoods….and they will always love their parents……I believe God puts that love, unconditional love, into our souls and once we are born we have it, it bubbles to the surface easily and in abundance! I believe we have the ability to keep it throughout life but our ego gets in the way.
When it comes to parents, we have a connection, a soul connection! Unconditional love and our parents are easily attached. The fact that we can experience unconditional love with our parents is the proof that we can share it with anyone. Or at the very least can you agree that it is the proof that it exists?
This post is not suggesting that unconditional love is running rampant all over the world ( although I wish it were)…..it is saying that unconditional love does exist and we can have it if we want it.
As with everything else in life, it is our choice.
Do you believe that?
